




The rehabilitation of the Eastern Pan-American Highway in Panama, carried out by OHLA since 2025, represents a key improvement to one of the country’s main connectivity infrastructures, following the award of the contract by Concesionaria Ruta del Este.
The project covers approximately 246 kilometers between Panama City and Yaviza, in the province of Darién, one of the longest and most strategic stretches of the Pan-American corridor in the country. The works include the comprehensive rehabilitation of the roadway, encompassing paving, improvement of the existing alignment, and the expansion of rest areas and bus stops, with the aim of enhancing road safety, driving comfort, and the operational efficiency of the corridor.
The Eastern Pan-American Highway is a key axis for national connectivity, linking the capital with the Darién region and serving as the backbone of land transport in this part of the country its route, the infrastructure facilitates the movement of goods and people, ensures access to essential services, and contributes to the territorial integration of both rural and urban communities.
