This thermosolar plant, located in Calasparra (Murcia), uses Linear Fresnel technology. The power reached is the highest developed until now- 30 megawatts (MW). It offers the advantage of not requiring an oil circuit, used in conventional plants, integrating the solar field as a steam generator in the water-steam cycle.

Basic structure

• 28 rows of mirrors, 940.8 meters long with a solar collection surface of 301,056 square meters
• Two identical thermosolar units of 15 MW. Each one of them has a solar field and a power system that may be added to the other unit’s solar field, in order to improve turbine performance in low-solar power periods.
