OHLA appoints María Luz Medrano Aranguren as a New Independent Director

OHLA’s Board of Directors has approved, following a proposal from the Appointments and Remuneration Committee (ARC), the appointment of María Luz Medrano Aranguren as a new Independent Director of the Group. Her appointment reinforces the Company’s commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance and further strengthens the diversity of expertise within the Board, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the legal and corporate field, together with a distinguished track record in providing legal counsel to major national and international corporations. The Board of Directors has also appointed her as a member of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
A Law graduate from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, she has served since 2023 as Secretary to the Board of Directors and Head of the Legal Department at EBN Banco de Negocios. Previously, between December 2007 and March 2019, and over the course of more than eleven years with Telefónica, she held the positions of Deputy General Secretary and Deputy Secretary to the Board of Directors, as well as Head of Legal Services. During this period, she also served as Deputy Secretary to the Board of Trustees of Fundación Telefónica and was responsible for the legal management of that governing body between 2019 and 2020.
She was also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) from 2016 to 2020. Between 2018 and 2023, she served on the Advisory Board of “Top Board” by Headspring IE/FT, an initiative jointly promoted by IE Business School and the leading international business newspaper Financial Times.
