The project involves the construction of 7.6 kilometres of underground infrastructure and forms part of Section 1 of the future Line 9, one of the most significant urban mobility developments currently underway in Chile. Within this scope, OHLA will deliver two of the project’s main sections. This new contract, which follows the award obtained last June for the construction of six new stations on Line 7, valued at more than €70 million, brings OHLA’s total number of interventions on the Santiago Metro network to 12 projects and pushes its accumulated project portfolio across the network beyond €700 million.

OHLA’s involvement in the Santiago Metro has materialised through projects developed on Lines 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7, including the construction of landmark stations such as Plaza Egaña, Dorsal, Gruta Lourdes, Blanqueado and Lo Prado, as well as numerous tunnels, galleries and shafts associated with the expansion of the Chilean capital’s subway system.

OHLA has been present in Chile since 1984, participating in some of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects. In addition to its work on the Santiago Metro, the company is currently undertaking several major developments, including the construction of the Lo Ruiz Tunnel, one of the most important road infrastructure projects currently being delivered in Santiago.
