The Stockholm Metro, in Sweden’s capital, one of Scandinavia’s leading cities with a population of around one million inhabitants in its urban area, represents one of the largest urban developments in which OHLA is currently involved.
With a total of four awarded contracts, the Group stands as one of the main contractors on the project, managing a combined investment of nearly €330 million. This strategic involvement reinforces OHLA’s commitment to sustainable mobility and the transformation of urban infrastructure in Europe.
Among the projects, Kungsträdgården stands out, successfully completed in February 2025, which included the construction of 4.5 kilometers of tunnel at depths of up to 90 meters below water. In addition, Gullmarsplan is notable for introducing Sweden’s first electric shotcrete robot, an innovation that enhances sustainability and worker safety; as well as Sockenplan 2 and Slakthusområdet, where 1,700 meters of tunnel excavation at depths of 50 meters are currently underway. Finally, the “7 Stations” contract involves the construction of seven new metro stations, integrating art and advanced technical solutions.
