OHLA has participated in the construction of the Villa Zaita station, as part of the extension project of Line 1 of the Panama Metro, as a member of the Línea Panamá Norte consortium. This infrastructure, recently inaugurated, represents a significant milestone in the development of public transport in the Panamanian capital and reinforces the company’s positioning in the country.
The project includes a station with capacity for more than 10,000 passengers during peak hours, a bus interchange for 8,000 users, and a parking facility with 800 spaces, as well as the expansion of the Transístmica Road to six lanes and the construction of a two-level road segment, together with pedestrian and landscaping improvements. In addition, the new infrastructure provides direct access to the Dr. Edilberto Culiosis Social Security Polyclinic, establishing itself as a strategic urban connectivity hub.
The Villa Zaita station, built by OHLA, promotes sustainable mobility in Panama, facilitating access to public transport through efficient integration of different transport modes. The complex will also feature a bus terminal and a dedicated taxi area, contributing to improved accessibility and service quality for users in the northern area of the city.
