OHLA is part of the concession company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion, operation, and maintenance of a 219 km federal highway which includes an urban section within Rio de Janeiro, connecting this city to Minas Gerais.

Our client, Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT), is an entity of the Brazilian Government.

This is one of the most important logistics corridors in Brazil, essential for the transportation of people and goods. The corridor also promotes tourism between two of the country’s most dynamic regions.

The project includes major infrastructure interventions, the most significant being the completion of the Sierra de Petrópolis climb. This highly technically complex project has long been in demand due to its impact on traffic safety and efficiency.

This 30-year concession requires an initial €1.1 billion investment. The revenue generated since the beginning of the concession comes from toll collection.
