OHLA has added to its portfolio a new photovoltaic project in the province of Seville, worth close to 60 million euros, for the construction and commissioning of two photovoltaic plants with a combined installed capacity of 87 MW (52.8 and 34.9 MW, respectively).
The production of both facilities will be approximately 187 GWh/year, which will supply approximately 20,000 homes. Its construction will also contribute to avoid the emission of 50,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
In addition to the two plants, the contract includes the evacuation infrastructure, which consists of a 30/132 kV elevator substation and a 132 kV line with overhead and underground sections.
This is an EPC project that includes the engineering, supply of equipment and materials, construction and commissioning of the entire project, as well as negotiations with the affected organizations for connection to the grid and commercial operation.
With OHLA’s participation in this initiative, the company will promote rural development through the generation of approximately 200 local jobs.
Nearly 1,400 MW managed in clean energies
OHLA’s portfolio includes nearly 30 renewable energy projects in Europe, the Americas and Asia with a total installed capacity of nearly 1,400 MW, which would supply approximately 560,000 homes per year.
In Spain, where it manages nearly 900 MW, the company was recently awarded the construction of a 100 MW photovoltaic plant in Mérida and is progressing in the execution of four projects totaling more than 500 MW. In Seville, in addition to the awarded projects, it has carried out the Zafra photovoltaic park (50 M) and the Arenales solar thermal plant in Morón de la Frontera (50 MW), with salt storage technology.
In Latin America, where it manages close to 530 MW, it has built the La Jacinta Solar photovoltaic park (65 MW) in Uruguay and the Perote II photovoltaic plant (120 MW) in Mexico. In Chile, it has completed the La Huella photovoltaic facility (87 MW), the La Estrella wind farm (50 MW), and the recently inaugurated Coya photovoltaic plant (200 MW).
